Summer Work

A minimum of 10 pages and 10 sources with notes (5 or so notes per source for a total of at least 50 notes) are due to Mrs. Sandberg's email (sandbmar@usd437.net) in the form of Google Documents or Word Documents by noon on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. 

DUE: Wednesday, September 3 at 12 pm, NOON

1. minimum 10 pages of extended essay (google document, preferably OR Word document)
2. minimum 10 sources (Working Bibliography - google document)
3. 50+ notes from the 10+ sources (included on Working Bibliography - google document started last year)
4. share google document or email Word document as attachment to sandbmar@usd437.net

Five Sources and Notes

1.  locate five quality, credible, authoritative, scholarly, academic resources 

2.  READ through the resources!

3.  correctly cite on your Working Bibliography Google document the five selected sources (include all pieces of citation information, which will enable me and any other readers of your research to track down your resources)

4.  take AT LEAST five notes (facts, quotes, statistics, write paraphrases for information, etc.) from EACH source for a total of twenty-five notes (make certain they are significant facts, useful to you for the writing of your paper)

 

Five Sources and 25 Notes Due: April 16, 2014 by 8 pm (15 points possible for TOK grade)

 

Recent Assignments yet to be completed by a few :

Copy then highlight and annotate your selected subject area from the EE notebook (5 points)
Develop your research question worksheet (5 points)
Explore the State Library databases online form (10 points)

Working Bibliography

A Working Bibliography google document has been created for you. Check your google drive.
As you thoroughly read and annotate your subject area from the EE notebook, you are welcome to take some notes on the Working Bibliography.  Ultimately you will need your Subject area and Research Question listed at the top of the Working Bibliography.

Read the BEFORE SPRING BREAK TO DO LIST post on this blog, if you have not already.

Before Spring Break To Do List

Choosing a Topic for Research (4 page handout)

Thoroughly Read Subject Area Instructions by Monday, March10
  • make a double sided copy, of the pages on your subject area, from the EE 3-ring notebook
  • highlight and annotate the copied pages (ex: significant points to remember when research/writing in the area, questions/concerns you have, etc.!)
  • DUE: by 3pm Monday, March 10th  submit highlighted and annotated pages to Mrs. Sandberg
Practice Writing Purposeful Questions (1 page, 4 step process)
  • DUE:  by 3pm Monday, March 10 complete Practice Writing Purposeful Questions and submit to Mrs. Sandberg
